The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the deferment of all acting internships or sub-internships for the 2020-2021 Match process. At this time, we extend an invitation to students for a 4-week virtual acting/sub internship in Urology. Students will have an opportunity to acquire foundational urologic knowledge as well as get to know the department in a meaningful virtual setting. The rotation is divided into 4 blocks, or “content-modules”.  Each block focuses on an aspect of urology for 1-week duration as depicted.

Each week the learner will have an opportunity to participate, via teleconferencing, in a wide variety of departmental activities, including Grand Rounds, Tumor Board, Morbidity and Mortality, Journal Club and Resident Teaching Conferences. Students will also participate the telecasting of live surgery and/or review of surgical videos and in telemedicine appointments and/or simulated patient scenarios with residents/fellows/faculty. Students will be expected to complete required pre-reading and present a patient case at a departmental conference.

Students will be assessed using an innovative collection of standardized assessments developed by the Society of Academic Urologists and will include a Standardized Letter of Recommendation.
