URiM Stipend

Northwell Health and The Smith Institute for Urology promote a culture of diversity and inclusion. We aim to foster an environment in which groups that have been historically underrepresented in medicine (URiM) excel, ensuring diversity amongst our future leaders.

The Smith Institute for Urology is proud to offer stipends to eligible URiM fourth year medical students who participate in our Urology sub-internship clerkship. Each sub-intern will be supported with $1,500 for travel and living expenses.

The stipend is available for either of our two residency programs at The Smith Institute – North Shore/Long Island Jewish Medical Center or  Lenox Hill Hospital.
